(eng) Korean elegance and style land in Milan and Paris

South Korean actors and singers light up international fashion shows.

Paris Fashion Week, held as usual just a few days after the Milan edition, has recently ended. Tis years presentation of next spring/summer collections was not lacking again with stars from the Korean music and film scene, invited by fashion Maison to attend the events as Guest or Brand Ambassadors.
French fashion houses have long understood the economic value that Korean artists can bring, both as Guest or Brand Ambassadors, and with a slight delay the Italian ones as well; the presence of South Korean artists, who attract fans and onlookers, is now a regular occurrence.

Milan Fashion Week, held from September 19th to the 23rd, brought to Italy the likes of Lee Min Ho, who attended the Boss event for the second time this year. For the occasion he wore a candid look in cream tones, incorporating a wide white coat, a warm turtleneck sweater and classic pants with pinces.

Another expected arrival was Seventeen Dokyeom – or DK, guesting for the second time in our country for the fashion house Bally, for which he is Brand Ambassador. The singer sported a black leather look with a fur collar on his jacket from the FW ’23 Swiss collection, a brand owned by Bally.

Again this season, the Enhypen group – Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-ki – attended the Prada show as Brand Amabassadors; the group was welcomed with great fanfare pulled up by Engene (the name of the group’s official fandom) as they showed off garments such as jackets, coats and jackets from the FW ’23 collection, featuring autumn hues highlighted by black pants.

Hwasa, a member of the girlgroup Mamamoo, was a guest at the Diesel show; she wore a sensual distressed denim outfit consisting of a jacket and multi-pocket skinny jeans.

Paris Fashion Week was held from September 25th to October 3rd. Among the highly anticipated Korean performers who attended, first and foremost worth mentioning is Black Pink Jisoo, who arrived at the Dior event in a dark-toned double-breasted mini dress made gritty by laced boots, all from the latest SS ’24 collection, and an aggressive yet super feminine smokey eyes make-up.

Hwasa delighted those in attendance at the fashion show for Maison Valentino with an understated black silk minidress embellished with crystal straps and long auburn hair gathered in a wide bun, adding a spritely touch to the look, worth of the singer’s energy.

Newbie guests at Fashion Week were two members of Stray Kids, I.N. and Felix, who in their first experience in the fashion world charmed the crowd of Stay (the group’s official fandom name) and non-fans.
I.N., guest at the Alexander McQueen show, wore a candid and sophisticated esemble consisting of a long double-breasted coat and cigarette pants. Felix, announced earlier as one of Louis Vuitton’s Brand Ambassador, sported a monochrome collarless blazer over straight black leather pants.

Hyein of New Jeans was also present at the event, swaddled in a clear technical fabric tracksuit.

Seventeen The8 and Joshua were also highly anticipated at Paris Fashion Week.The8 casually sported an understated gray sweatshirt suit at the Givenchy show and an elegant black and white tweed fringed outerwear at the Balmain event. Joshua paired a tartan coat with a refined double-breasted striped jacket for the Marni brand event.

In his first assignment as official Balmain Brand Ambassador Hongjoong, ATEEZ leader and rapper, made his entrance at the Paris event sporting a red, shaped-cut jacket with a wide spear collar and extensive black bangs from Balmain’s resort 2024 collection, drewing attention for its bright red hue. The garment, paired with black pants, cap and B-Buzz Dynasty bag, completed the elegant look, symbolic of the Maison’s French style.

At the SS ’24 Men’s collection presentation, Hongjoong wore a more sensual and gritty ensemble, reflecting indeed his intriguing personality through the black leather jacket with white trim and Balmain’s signature geometric sunglasses, paired with black pants. For the men’s collection, creative director Olivier Rousteing took inspiration from the trips around the world that founder Pierre Balmain made between the wars, specifically to countries such as Vietnam, South Korea, and Japan, symbolized through dragons or kites printed or cleverly embroidered on jackets or shirts. Another focal point of the collection were the outerwear deconstructed with panels in sinuous and geometric shapes.

We are curious to witness which of these designs will be worn by the Brand Ambassador in his upcoming events!
