Gli NCT DREAM sono tornati sulla scena musicale con un nuovo album, “DREAM( )SCAPE“, che segna una decisa svolta rispetto ai loro precedenti lavori. Dimenticate le classiche canzoni allegre e piene di energia: stavolta il gruppo punta su un sound più intenso e profondo. A soli otto mesi dall’ultimo successo “ISTJ”, con questo disco gli NCT Dream esplorano nuovi territori.
Il gruppo, nato nel 2016 sotto la SM Entertainment, è composto da sette membri: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Haechan e Chenle. Fin dal debutto, gli NCT Dream hanno conquistato il pubblico con brani energici che celebrano sogni e speranze, come “Boom” (2019), “Hello Future” (2021) e “Candy” (2022).
Sebbene la volontà di raccontare la ricerca dei propri sogni rimanga un punto fermo, l’ultimo album si spinge oltre, offrendo conforto anche a chi sta affrontando momenti difficili.
Fin dall’inizio, il nostro obiettivo è stato trasmettere un messaggio di speranza. Tuttavia, con questo album, la nostra intenzione è stata creare canzoni che potessero raggiungere anche chi non ha sogni, chi sta vivendo un periodo buio
ha dichiarato Mark, il leader del gruppo, durante una conferenza stampa di presentazione dell’album tenutasi oggi a Seoul.
Nonostante la nostra immagine allegra sul palco, ognuno di noi ha affrontato momenti di difficoltà e periodi senza sogni. È proprio da questa empatia condivisa che abbiamo creato un album che potesse risuonare con i giovani di oggi.
Il messaggio di conforto per chi non ha sogni permea l’intero album, a partire dalla title track “Smoothie” – della quale vi offriamo testo e traduzione al termine dell’articolo. Dietro il ritmo coinvolgente e ad un classico suono di basso un po’ anni ’80 si nasconde un messaggio forte di rifiuto verso giudizi e pregiudizi della società.
Nella vita ci imbattiamo sempre in giudizi e stereotipi che vorremmo evitare. ‘Smoothie’ simboleggia la nostra determinazione a ‘mescolare’ e ‘berci’ queste negatività, per poterci poi liberare e costruire il nostro percorso”
ha spiegato Renjun. L’album include altre cinque tracce, tra cui “icantfeelanything“, “BOX“, “Carat Cake”, “UNKNOWN” e “Breathing“, tutte pensate per offrire conforto profondo a chi si sente privo di sogni e speranze.
Alcuni fan potrebbero essere sorpresi da questo allontanamento dalla tipica immagine giovane e solare degli NCT DREAM, ma i membri del gruppo rimangono convinti della loro scelta stilistica.
Oltre ai racconti di speranza, ci sono tante altre storie da raccontare sui sogni, comprese quelle sugli incubi o sulle situazioni in cui i sogni sembrano assenti

Spero che i nostri ascoltatori vedano questo album come l’inizio di un percorso di esplorazione di nuove storie sui sogni. Non considerate un cambio di rotta, ma un’espansione del nostro modo di raccontare.
Anche Haechan ha voluto rassicurare i fan sulla versatilità del gruppo:
Sebbene alcuni aspetti potrebbero sembrare inusuali, speriamo che riconosciate la nostra capacità di esplorare stili diversi senza rimanere confinati in un unico genere o concetto.
L’uscita dell’album sarà seguita dal terzo tour mondiale “The Dream Show 3”, che inizierà a maggio con tre concerti a Seoul.
